Whitney and I were shopping at the Piggly Wiggly today...and as per usual, we paused for reflection in front of the Little Debbie shrine on aisle 4. We observed a moment of silence. Whitney fell to her knees, overcome by the greatness of the Swiss Cake Rolls, the Star Crunches, the Banana Twins, the Oatmeal Cream Pies, and the Fancy Cakes. I was overcome as well. I gave her my hand...lifting her up and reminding her that Little Debbie also produced Choco-Jells...and she came out of her trance. Choco-Jells??...what was Little Debbie thinking???

We both agreed as we stood there basking in the glory and bounty and beauty of the Little Debbie display that this must be very much like how George Washington felt when he discovered America in 1942.

George Washington discovered America in 1942 and then went on to discover electricity, free the slaves, and make all the Indians move to Oklahoma. Granted, this is all common knowledge. What most people don't know (you will not find this in your history books) is that he also invented Little Debbie snack cakes. George Washington was a great man. A great man indeed.

First wife's name was Debbie. Just looking at that name, anywhere, on anything, even a cute little cream pie makes my stones grow cold!

Indeed Sister Colo, George Washington was a great man. I think that the young people of today should respect his accomplishments in 1942. Time's were simpler, albeit better then. Don't you agree? LL
